Cold Progress

A bitter cold gust sweeps along the Danube to cause a freezing start in the early morning hours. The adored Trepplweg only sporadically allows for comfortable hiking for the first few hours, though walking along the road serves up a surprising Asian lunch. A long walk along the cycling path follows, ending just before sunset with the sight of the Stift Melk. Vegetarian food is accompanied by some drinks on the house to round off a not so tranquil, long day of hiking.
